I’m Back!

To my original followers…

You may have noticed that it’s almost been a year since I last posted on this site, not counting  yesterday. To tell you the truth, it’s been almost a year since I’ve written anything at all other than an occasional journal entry. My life has been really busy lately and I’ve just recently gotten it somewhat back under control. If you noticed what yesterday’s post revealed, I got pregnant last February, plus I didn’t find out until the beginning of March. Ever since then, my life has revolved around my son, who is now going-on four months old. When you have a child, it really is a challenge  to make time for other things you may want or even need to do… unless those things involve the care of said child. So I hope that all is forgiven? Maybe?

I must admit that I was a little hesitant at first to share this new journey in my personal life with you all. Not to offend anyone. It’s just that this site is not at all like any of my social media sites, where about ninety percent of my followers are people I’ve at least met in person. Then I realized that, in a way, I am not accompanied by strangers here. We are all writers, after all, sharing like minds, content, and at times, lending a helping hand. During those lonely moments in life, this place can feel almost like home. 🌻💙

Going forward, I will be continuing this blog’s traditions: Faith-based posts on Sunday, Motivation Monday, etc. I think, though, that I’ll change Relaxation Wednesday’s theme to fit a more broad spectrum, if you will, of self-help. In other words, I will be sharing anything I find or experience that may be helpful to body, mind, and soul. I’m just not yet sure what I will call it. If you have any ideas, feel free to comment below! 🙂

NOW… ABOUT MY PROMISE. I still haven’t forgotten about the followers that originally got me to the big number twenty-five. I understand that I’ve lost one but I definitely see some new faces! All of your blogs are listed at the bottom of this page. I’m not sure if I will be continuing on with mentioning new followers, so there’s a heads-up on that. But I am a person who follows through with a promise and believes in the old saying, “better late than never,” so that’s why I’m doing this now. If there’s a blog on this list you haven’t checked out, go check it out! I challenge you to take five minutes to skim through one blog on this list and either like one of their posts or leave a good comment. We do, after all, need each other’s support and feedback.

30-Day Song Challenge: Day 27-30

I saw this on a post from The Haunted Wordsmith and thought I’d join in on the fun! I’ve also fallen a little behind lately so here is my Day 27-30:

Day 27

Concrete Angel – Martina McBride

SO many in the Country category that fit this description to a T. Still, I think Concrete to date might take the cake.

Day 28

American Child – Phil Vassar

I love artists like Phil who’s voices are just pure and crisp. This is probably my favorite from him because it has so much passion. My favorite part is the ending verse where he talks about his grandpa.

Day 29

We listened to old school Rock ‘n’ Roll and 90s/early 2000s Country growing up. I’m going to have to pick 2 out of each category:

Winds of Change – Scorpions

I’m Alright – Jo Dee Messina

Day 30

Who I Am – Jessica Andrews

This song makes me feel so good in such a way that I can’t describe. In the beginning of the chorus I like to change the name to Doris Jane — Because that’s my grandmother’s name. As a whole, though, this song reminds me of all my family and loved ones that I’m still close to. These people are who I am and where I came from.

30-Day Song Challenge: Day 21-26

I saw this on a post from The Haunted Wordsmith and thought I’d join in on the fun! I’ve also fallen a little behind lately so here is my Day 21-26:

Day 21

Sweet Annie – Zac Brown Band

Day 22

I’m Movin On – Rascal Flatts

Day 23

Bloodshed – Ryan Upchurch

Day 24

Back In Black – AC/DC

Day 25

Love Is A Long Road – Tom Petty

Day 26

When You Kiss Me (Red Version) – Shania Twain

This song was the very first one that made me think of my husband. At the time I first started listening to it, we had just started dating. It was sort of the soundtrack to me falling in love with him — as corny as that sounds. Now whenever I hear it, I fall in love all over.

30-Day Song Challenge: Day 19

I saw this on a post from The Haunted Wordsmith and thought I’d join in on the fun! Here is my Day 19:

Day 19

A song that makes me think about life… Ugh. There are far too many to count. I think Country Music as a whole is life being told in songs. It talks about many different people at many different points — highs and lows. If only more people hnderstood that. “It’s Always Gonna Be That Way” by Trace Adkins is a really good one. But like I said, there’s just so many in that genre, I can’t put my finger on any one that’s the most about life itself.
